High risk individuals should keep this in mind when planning their living situations. Landlords are responsible for keeping the premises in a safe and habitable condition and are responsible for keeping electrical, plumbing, sanitary, heating, ventilating, and other amenities in working order. However, there is no state legislation requiring them to provide cooling. Keep this in mind before signing a lease.
